Welcome to Emerson Elementary School! At Emerson we have approximately 360 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are proud to be a Responsive Classroom school that uses daily morning meeting time to build classroom community and focuses on the development of positive peer relationships. We are also a Platinum PBIS school and incorporate our school rules: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, into all we do. Emerson School is an inclusive environment that utilizes co-teaching as well as language services at each of our grade levels to meet the needs of our diverse learners. Our Dual Language Program fosters an appreciation for biculturalism and biliteracy for all students through the use of an additive model that integrates content and language. We are a 1:1 iPad school where students have the opportunity to take their device home each day. Students use their device to learn, collaborate, create, and share. Each classroom uses their devices differently throughout the school day to best meet the needs of their learners. Differentiation is shown at each grade level, in each subject, daily. In our school you also may see classrooms utilizing flexible seating options for students to have a choice in choosing a spot where they feel they can learn best.
